Dining and Restaurants

You have probably heard about all the food you can eat on a cruise and you have heard right! On Disney Cruise Line there are many options for food from the main dining restaurants to the buffet to food on the pool deck!

What you need to know

  • Main dining on Disney Cruise Line is a bit different than other cruise lines. On all of the ships (except the Disney Adventure) there are three main restaurants.  When you board the ship, you will find your rotation or what restaurant you are in each night.  You will be assigned a table and a service team.  Your service team will follow your same rotation and remain your service team at all of the restaurants in the rotation.  If your cruise is longer than three nights, you will repeat restaurants with a different menu.  There are two assigned dining times, early, approximately 5:45 and late, approximately 8:15.

  • Each ship also has at least one specialty adult only restaurant.  These are an upcharge and require reservations.  You may also want to check out brunch in the specialty restaurants on sea days.  These reservations fill up fast on some sailings.

  • There is a buffet on each of the ships that is open for breakfast and lunch.  The buffets serve a variety of cuisine and can provide something for everyone in your party.  If you visit the buffet at slightly off “normal” breakfast or lunch hours it is typically a bit more calm.

  • The pool decks also provide some quick service type dining options.  Think pizza, chicken tenders, french fries, and burgers.  The newer ships, Wish, Treasure, and Destiny, also have bbq items and a cantina location serving tacos, burritos, and bowls.  On the pool deck you can also find the unlimited soft serve ice cream! Some of the ships have lounges that have small bites or snacks available at an additional charge.

  • Room service offers a variety of items at no additional charge.  Favorites include the “All Hands on Deck” cheese plate, wings, and Mickey Ice Cream Bars. Be sure to tip your attendant that delivers your items.
